Anna and Lee's Spring Wedding

How we met...

We met on a dating app called Bumble, we were the first match for each other on the app!

The proposal...

Lee proposed to me on holiday in Cape Verde, he wanted to go on the beach but by the time I was ready it was pitch black on the beach! So he proposed whilst a Bruno Mars tribute act performed (not sure what song), we slow danced after and celebrated with champagne.

Our vision for the day...

I've always liked a rustic feel and knew that I wanted grey and rose gold colours from the start.

What we wore...

My dress was by Enzoani, it was the third dress shop I tried at Silver Sixpence. I had a beaded detail added to the front to match the back of my dress which I fell in love with, Natalya James did this perfectly as well as my veil.

Lee's suit was from Moss Bros. We chose it together and wanted his to stand out from the ushers, so his had the pink check and theirs were plain grey.

The bridesmaid's dresses were the hardest to find in the right colour scheme, but in the end they looked perfect!

Food and Drink...

Ian Brodie Catering supplied our food with a selection of canapes followed by a ploughman's picnic meal with the best pork pie, meat, pate, and bread we've ever had. We finished with a trio of our favourite desserts. They also provided the burger bar in the evening which was delicious. We had a cake of cheese as our wedding cake which we served with crackers in the evening, as well as cupcakes.

Our favourite part of the day...

The best part of the day was walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time, and exchanging our vows in front of our close friends and family.

The idea we felt really worked on the day...

The Hoofbooth by Jon whiles was a great hit with everybody, and it created a great keepsake of memories from the day.

Where we felt our budget was well spent...

Our photographer was the best money we spent as he got some fantastic pictures of the day.

The archway by Honeybees also added a great touch to the ceremony, and flowers by Christine matched our colour scheme perfectly.

The personal touches that made it our day...

We made a lot of our decorations ourselves so we gave it a personal touch from the handmade jars and bottles, to the seating plan and table names of the places we had been to. Our love heart names for the guests was a great touch and loved by all.

Recommended suppliers...

We would recommend Jon Whiles Photography, Honeybees for the archway, as well as the caterer Ian Brodie and florist Christine Littlewood. They all did a fantastic job!

Our top tip for future Dodmoor couples...

Our top tip is not to stress about who comes on the day, those that really matter to you and want to be there will be! Enjoy the moment with those you love!

A special thanks to Anna and Lee for sharing their story, and Jon Whiles for the photos x
